Rasa Dance Project was established in 2021 under the artistic direction of Kathak dancer Rachna Ramya Agrawal and the Bharatanatyam dancer Aishwarya Chakravarthy.  

The word "Rasa" literally means the aesthetical essence of an art form that can evoke feelings and emotions in the audience.  Rasa Dance Project's dance performances celebrate India's cultural brilliance and weave contemporary issues that matter into the tradition. Rasa Dance's productions and programs build an awareness of all arts of vast Indian heritage through collaborative work.  

The artistic directors, Rachna Ramya and Aishwarya Chakravarthy, train about 200 dance students each semester. The dance schools "Sumbhaav School of Kathak Dance" and "Natyakshetram," supported by the Rasa Dance Project, provide thorough training to students in Kathak and Bharatnatyam dance forms, respectively
